History

Kensal Green & Harlesden Station was opened by the North London Railway owned and operated Hampstead Junction Railway in 1861.  This station was originally located in Green Lane (now Wrottesley Road) and, following the absorption of the NLR by the London & North Western Railway in 1867,  was closed in 1873 when it was replaced by Kensal Green station on the current site in Chamberlyne Road.  The station was renamed to Kensal Rise in 1890.

Management of the station passed from Silverlink to London Overground in 2007.
