History

Harringay Green Lanes Station was opened in 1880 by the Tottenham & Hampstead Junction Railway as Green Lanes.

The station has been renamed several times in it’s life; Harringay Park, Green Lanes in 1882, Harringay Park in June 1951, Harringay Stadium in October 1958, Harringay East in May 1990 and finally to it’s current name in May 1991.

When opened, the station had wooden platform buildings which were finally replaced in the 1950s. The original ticket hall survives today and is in use as a cafe. The station goods yard was closed to traffic and removed in 1964, becoming the Railway Fields Nature Reserve.
