History

Bruce Grove was opened on 22 July 1872 as part of the Stoke Newington & Edmonton Railway, owned by the Great Eastern Railway, as part of their line to Enfield Town.

Nothing of note occurred in the early history of the station. In fact, it wasn’t until the early 1980s that anything noteworthy happened, with several changes made to the station’s appearance, including reglacement of the original wooden staircases, shortening and removal of the platform canopies and small cosmetic improvements were made.

Ownership of the station passed from Abellio Greater Anglia to London Overground in May 2015.
